Graduated from the EM Lyon Business School, Matthieu Birach began his career at Rothschild and Société Générale, before discovering the world of start-ups in 2015.

Driven by a desire to extend his horizons, Matthieu joined Take Eat Easy, a start-up specialized in meal delivery. Less than two years later, the project ended: Matthieu had to announce the end of the project to the whole team and start again from zero.

Convinced by the vision of Stanislas Niox-Chateau, co-founder and CEO of Doctolib, Matthieu joined the project as the International Expansion Director in charge of expanding the start-up to Germany. Keen on HR topics, Matthieu became Doctolib’s Chief People Officer in 2019, in the middle of a period of hypergrowth for the start-up, which at the time was recruiting around 800 people per year.

In this episode, Matthieu reviews his career path, his first start-up experience, his view on failure and how to manage difficulties with his team.
