Summer comfort: a human-
challenge for regions

Against the backdrop of increasingly frequent heat waves, the design and adaptation of buildings—whether existing or new—must become key drivers of regional attractiveness and resilience.

To design and build the resilient buildings of tomorrow, Urban Odyssey and H7 are launching a call for solutions to identify innovative projects capable of addressing the challenges of thermal comfort.

Following the selection process, the chosen projects will have the opportunity to present their solutions to the innovation teams at Urban Odyssey and Icade with a view to a potential collaboration.

This call for solutions is part of an innovation initiative grounded in real-world realities.

A group of key stakeholders in the real estate sector (users, investors, landlords, developers, architects, engineering firms, local governments, and urban planners) was brought together early on to jointly identify the top priorities.

During a morning of collaborative work, these experts followed a two-step methodology. First, they analyzed the causes, consequences, and obstacles related to summer discomfort, which helped identify shared findings. Next, they considered which solutions could be implemented internally and which would require external solutions.

It was precisely this need for relevant external solutions that led to this call for applications.
