About Shine

Shine is the first neobank entirely designed and developed for self-employed workers. It combines a personal administrative assistant and a bank account for self-employed workers in one app.

The idea for Shine came about when the two co-founders, Nicolas and Raphaël, met. At the time, Raphaël was freelancing for Nicolas's previous company, Printic. He was perfectly happy with this arrangement, except for the administrative burden: registering his business, choosing his tax regime, declaring and paying his contributions, chasing up his clients, etc. All of these time-consuming tasks prevented him from focusing on his core business.

This gave rise to the idea of a real co-pilot for freelancers, allowing them to focus 100% on their work without worrying about administrative hassles.

After raising €2.8 million in July 2017 from Daphni, Kima Ventures, and several business angels, Shine completed a second round of fundraising in August 2018, raising €8 million. This round of financing was completed with XAnge (Ledger, Chauffeur Privé, Lydia) and Daphni, a long-standing investor, as well as business angels Gilles Samoun and Ed Zimmerman.
