About Christian Vanizette
Christian Vanizette is co-founder of Makesense, an association promoting social entrepreneurship in France launched in 2010. Considered one of the world's 30 most promising entrepreneurs by Forbes magazine, he is a member of the Conseil national du numérique and the EDF Group Foundation, among others.
Christian's entrepreneurial journey began during a trip to meet social and environmental project leaders who were implementing local solutions on a city scale. To scale up these innovations, he created a platform to connect them with hundreds of volunteers around the world who wanted to help them develop their projects. This is where the idea for Makesense was born.
Ten years later, the team has around 100 employees in five countries and over 200,000 volunteers worldwide, with the aim of promoting social entrepreneurship among the general public and professionals. An incubator was set up in 2014, offering different support formats adapted to all phases of impact projects. Makesense's power lies in developing tools and programs for citizens and social entrepreneurs to take action and build an inclusive, sustainable society.
The association's ambition is to mobilize 180 million people over the next ten years to meet the major climatic and social challenges of our century.
